My daughter’s husband is currently serving in the Army in Iraq and they need another vehicle. Their only income is his, but she has power of attorney that includes the power to purchase a vehicle or home in his name. Unfortunately, most lending institutions want him present to sign the loan and won’t accept her power of attorney. Does anyone know of any reputable lenders that would go that route? My wife and I aren’t in a situation in which we could help them, even as a co-signer on the note, so that’s not a viable option. Thank you.

They are asking for a form to be signed, titled “Power of attorney to sign for owner when registering and/or transferring ownership of a motor vehicle”…. I don’t feel comfortable giving this dealership the right to sign FOR me.
